Getting started
Finding and verifying e-mails
Find a person's work address from their name and company, or check whether an address is real — one at a time or by the file.
Two tools
- Find — a person’s work address from their name and company domain. The address we return has been checked against the company’s mail server.
- Verify — whether an address you already have is deliverable, without sending any mail.
Your agent uses find_email and verify_email. Most answers arrive within about 20 seconds; when a mail
provider is slow the agent gets a task id and collects the answer a little later.
What the results mean
| Result | Meaning |
|---|---|
valid | The mailbox exists and accepts mail |
invalid | The mailbox does not exist |
catch_all | The domain accepts every address, so no single address can be proven |
not_found | Find only: no working address for that name at that company |
unknown | The mail server would not give a clear answer |
unreachable | The domain does not accept mail at all — it has no mail server, or its server does not answer |
skipped | The provider blocks verification from our network for now; try again later |
catch_all is not valid. Such a domain says yes to anything, including addresses that do not exist.
Send to them knowing that.
By the file
For hundreds or thousands of rows:
- Dashboard → Email jobs — upload a CSV, choose which column is the e-mail (verify) or the name and the website (find), and download the same file back with the results added as new columns.
- From an agent or the API —
start_email_jobwith the rows; the result is a file, like an export.
Both run on the same engine with the same results.
What it costs
Verification costs a record per address checked. Finding costs a record per address found; a name we could not find an address for costs nothing. Both draw on the same allowance as everything else — see how the allowance works.
