I hit a limit
What each limit message means and what to do about it.
Every limit message says which limit, and when it clears. Match the message to the row:
| Message says | What it is | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 5-hour allowance used up | The rolling 5-hour window of your allowance | Wait until the time in the message — records free up continuously — or spread the work out |
| weekly allowance used up | The rolling 7-day window — your plan’s size | Wait for the time in the message, or move up a plan |
| rate limit reached (…/min) | Too many calls per minute | Retry after the seconds given; an agent in a loop usually causes this |
| too many concurrent requests | Too many calls at the same moment | Let running calls finish |
| … job(s) already running | Parallel background jobs on your plan | Wait for an export or import to finish |
| a list holds at most … | List size on your plan | Split the list, or move up a plan |
| the search service is at capacity | Our side, briefly busy | Retry in a few seconds |
Only the activities that show records are stopped by a full allowance. Counting, filters, page text and e-mail checks keep working, so you can size the next search or export while the window refills.
Exports near the limit
An export is capped at what is left in your allowance instead of failing: you get the first part now, and can export the rest when the window has refilled. The job result says how many rows it delivered.
Where you stand
Dashboard → Billing, or ask your agent “how much do I have left?” (get_usage). Both show the 5-hour and
the weekly window.
